Description
The RVTS-1 bundle puts Raw Vintage’s non-aged 50’s-series Strat pickups (RV-5661-NA) front and center, backed up with tremolo springs and a set of Ernie Ball strings so you can get the whole rig singing without hunting down parts separately.
Raw Vintage built its reputation rewinding original 50s and 60s pickups by hand, and that obsession shows in every detail of the RV-5661. The staggered pole pieces use a “Tall G” magnet profile — matching heights on the 3rd and 4th strings, just like the vintage originals — paired with Alnico 5 magnets. Their proprietary staggering process evens out magnetic flux across the strings for balanced output neck to bridge.
Coils are wound with AWG-42 heavy formvar wire, hand-tuned in resistance to land around 5.8–6.1kΩ, using a layering method that alternates tight and loose winds to bring out midrange body without sacrificing sparkle on top. The winding machine itself is programmed to mimic the feel and tension of a hand wind — no shortcuts. Once wound, each coil gets a custom wax potting blend (mixed with extra black carbon powder for the 50’s series) at a lower melting point and viscosity than typical, keeping the tone open and alive rather than choked off.
