Description
Chasing that fat, woody ’50s/’60s Strat tone but tired of modern hardware killing the vibe? This bundle tackles two of the most overlooked culprits — tremolo springs and bridge saddles — with parts engineered specifically to replicate the vintage originals, plus a set of Ernie Ball strings to finish the job.
Modern reproduction tremolo springs tend to run stiffer and lighter than what came off the line decades ago, and that mismatch quietly robs your Strat of its characteristic warmth and feel. RAW VINTAGE’s RVTS-1 springs were developed by studying original vintage units and matching their tension and weight. Used as a set of 5 (or 4, if that’s your setup), they deliver the heavier mass and altered contraction behavior that translates into smoother arm feel, more stable tuning under use, and a noticeably fatter overall tone — a straightforward upgrade for reissue Strats trying to get closer to the real vintage experience.
Saddles matter just as much, and cheap replacements usually cut corners — copper cores under nickel plating, inconsistent hardness, you name it — all of which subtly color your tone away from the original. RAW VINTAGE went the other direction: analyzing genuine ’50s steel saddles down to their metal structure, then reproducing that exact composition and plating directly onto steel (no copper substrate). The included RVS-112 set gives you six pure steel saddles at 11.2mm / 0.441″ spacing, sized for “Fender USA” pitch — ideal if your relic’d build already nails the vintage radius, pickups, and aging, and your saddles need to catch up.
