Description
This is one of the most trusted humbucker pairings in the Seymour Duncan lineup, and for good reason — it covers the full range from silky vintage cleans to snarling rock crunch without ever feeling one-dimensional.
- SH-1n ’59 (Neck): A late-’50s P.A.F.-style voice with warm, crystalline cleans and a smooth, singing sustain when pushed into distortion. It’s slightly more scooped in the mids than Duncan’s Seth Lover model and comes vacuum wax potted, so you get squeal-free performance without sacrificing that classic plain-enamel, long-legged-baseplate character. No logo, just old-school looks and tone.
- SH-5 Custom (Bridge): Think of it as a P.A.F. that hit the gym. A ceramic magnet and custom coil design deliver compressed dynamics, punchy low end, and an aggressive high-mid attack that cuts through a mix. It handles dropped tunings cleanly without turning to mush, making it a favorite for classic rock, heavy rock, funk, punk, R&B, and metal players alike.
Both pickups are wired 4-conductor for coil-splitting and phase flexibility, and both arrive in black to keep your build looking clean and cohesive. Pair them together and you get vintage-correct P.A.F. warmth up front with a bigger, harder-hitting Custom voice in back — a combo that’s balanced, expressive, and especially at home with rosewood fingerboards.
This bundle also includes a free set of Ernie Ball EB2220 Power Slinky strings, so you can get your rewired guitar back in tune and gigging right away.
