Description
Eight strings means more real estate to cover, and more room for mud, hum, and flabby lows if your pickups aren’t built for it. The AHB-1s takes Seymour Duncan’s Blackouts platform and adapts it specifically for extended-range guitars, using balanced inputs and a differential preamp to keep noise in check across that wider tonal spread.
Unlike a lot of active pickups that squash your dynamics and carve out the mids, this set is voiced with heavy rock and metal players in mind — think old-school thrash, punk, garage, and anything living in drop tunings. You get an extended frequency response, less compression, and a fuller low end that doesn’t collapse into mush when you’re riffing on the low strings.
This is the matched neck and bridge pair, calibrated to work together rather than fighting for headroom. Because it’s a 9V active design, hum is dramatically reduced compared to passive or standard active humbuckers — a real plus if you’re recording or gigging near monitors and fluorescent lights.
- Calibrated neck and bridge set for 8-string guitars
- 9V active preamp with balanced inputs for low-noise performance
- Extended frequency response, less compression than typical active pickups
- Voiced for heavy rock, metal, and drop-tuned playing
- Includes 25K pots, stereo jack, battery clip, and mounting hardware
- High output, hum-cancelling design
If your current 8-string pickups feel thin, noisy, or overly compressed, this set is built to fix exactly that.
