Description
Some pickups chase vintage tone with modern shortcuts. The Antiquity set doesn’t bother pretending — Seymour Duncan builds these by hand in the dedicated Antiquity room, replicating Seth Lover’s original ’50s humbucker design down to the unpotted construction that gives you that loose, slightly microphonic vintage character instead of a scooped, sterile modern voice. Every pickup carries its own natural variance in DC resistance, just like the old ones did, because no two coils were ever wound identically back then either.
The aesthetics get the same obsessive treatment as the tone. The nickel silver covers and pole pieces are artificially aged so the set looks like it’s logged four decades of gigs, not four days off the shelf. Each pickup is individually signed on the magnet and bottom plate by Seymour W. Duncan himself, so you know exactly what you’re loading into your guitar.
This bundle pairs the set with Ernie Ball EB2220 Power Slinky strings, giving you fresh strings to properly break in that new-old tone from the first chord.
