Description
Seth Lover’s original humbucker design wasn’t perfect by modern standards—it was inconsistent, unpotted, and full of character. That’s exactly what Seymour Duncan set out to recreate with the Antiquity set. Each pickup is wound and assembled the old way, so DC resistance varies pickup to pickup just like it did back in the day, and nothing gets wax potted. Skipping the potting step keeps the vintage microphonic bite and airiness intact instead of squashing it flat.
The nickel silver covers and pole pieces have been artificially aged to look like they’ve spent four decades under a player’s hands—not pristine, not gimmicky, just honestly worn. These are made by hand in Seymour Duncan’s dedicated Antiquity room, and each one carries a hand signature on the magnet and bottom plate so you know it’s the real thing.
A front-tapered mounting ring and matching screws come included. Rounding out the bundle is a set of Ernie Ball EB2223 Super Slinky strings, so you can drop the new pickups in and restring in one go.
