Description
Some pickups chase vintage tone by copying a spec sheet. The Antiquity set chases it by copying an actual 40-year-old humbucker — right down to the wear on the nickel cover and poles. Seymour Duncan’s Antiquity room builds these by hand to Seth E. Lover’s original design, and because each coil is wound the old-fashioned way, no two pickups come out with identical DC resistance or voice. That’s not a flaw — it’s the point.
- Aged nickel silver cover and poles for a genuinely played-in look
- Left unpotted, preserving the airy, slightly microphonic vintage character
- Includes a front-tapered mounting ring and matching screws
- Signed by hand on the magnet and bottom plate for authenticity
Spec-wise, expect roughly 7.8k DC ohms, 4.22 henries of inductance, a Q of 2.29, and a magnet output around 15-20 gauss with side-adjustable calibration. Physically it measures 1.494″ wide by 2.750″ long, with a max height (leg included) of 1.095″ and a minimum height of 0.150″. The mounting ring runs 1.756″ x 3.537″ with a max height of 0.235″, and adjustable pole pieces travel 0.750″ with a height-adjustment screw length of 1.250″.
This bundle also throws in a set of Ernie Ball EB2220 Power Slinky strings, so once your new pickups are wired in, you’ve got fresh strings ready to bring out every bit of that vintage growl.
