Description
Seymour Duncan built the Antiquity II Jazzmaster set to chase a very specific memory: the sound he wore into old phonograph needles as a kid, spinning records by The Ventures and Roy Lanham. That surfy, glassy, slightly wild character was inseparable from the Jazzmaster’s floating tremolo and its unusually voiced pickups — flip through any stack of ’60s instrumental album covers and you’ll spot the shape everywhere.
This calibrated set pairs a north-polarity neck pickup (wound top-going) with a south-polarity bridge pickup (wound top-coming), each reading 8.3K DC ohms with 4.2 henries of inductance and a Q of 3.5. Both units share the same footprint — 3.530″ long by 1.512″ wide, with a raised top-and-bottom magnet pattern and a total magnet height of .471″ — and adjust into the body rather than via external springs, keeping that vintage-correct low profile at .318″ total pickup height.
To get you playing right out of the box, this bundle includes a set of Ernie Ball EB2220 Power Slinky electric guitar strings, so you can drop the new pickups in and restring in one session.
