Description
The Antiquity II Surf set takes the classic “Surfer” single-coil and builds a full Strat trio around it, tuned so each position pulls its own weight instead of just cloning the neck tone three times. You get the Surfer itself in the neck, a hotter Custom Bridge version for players who want more push when they dig in, and a reverse-wound/reverse-polarity Surfer in the middle for hum-cancelling in positions 2 and 4. The result covers a lot of ground: Chicago blues grit, West Side soul, jangly pop, and yes, actual reverb-drenched surf, all without losing the airy top end and woody low-mids that make a Strat sound like a Strat.
Both the Surfer and Custom Bridge share the same physical footprint and staggered, raised-above-flatwork magnet pattern with south polarity, top-going winds, and a cover measuring 2.750″ long, .700″ wide, and .495″ tall. Height adjustment is via 6/32 oval-head Phillips screws. Where they differ is output: the Surfer neck pickup reads 6.3K DC ohms with 2.87 henries of inductance and a Q of 2.39, while the Custom Bridge steps up to 9.7K ohms, 4.08 henries, and a Q of 2.52 for a bit more grunt without turning harsh. The middle pickup is electrically the same as the neck Surfer, just wound and wired in reverse for that classic quack when blended with a neighboring pickup.
