Description
The Antiquity II Surf set is Seymour Duncan’s answer to that elusive early-’60s Strat voice—glassy top end, woody low-end thump, and just enough grit to make quack sound like an instrument rather than an accident. It’s built around the classic Surfer neck pickup, tonally at home whether you’re chasing surf twang, jangly indie chords, or greasy West Side blues licks.
Because a real Strat rig needs balance across all three positions, Seymour Duncan didn’t just clone the neck pickup three times. The bridge gets the Custom Bridge version, wound hotter for extra push when you need to cut through a band mix, while the middle slot houses a Surfer RW/RP—same specs as the neck pickup but with reversed winding and polarity to cancel hum in positions 2 and 4.
Each pickup uses a staggered magnet pattern raised above the flatwork, calibrated south polarity, and top-going winding direction for that authentic vintage feel under your fingers and ears.
- Neck (Surfer): 6.3K DC ohms, 2.87 henries, Q 2.39
- Bridge (Custom Bridge): 9.7K DC ohms, 4.08 henries, Q 2.52
- Middle (Surfer RW/RP): same specs as neck, reverse wound/reverse polarity for hum cancellation
- 6/32 oval head Phillips height adjustment screws
This bundle also throws in a set of Ernie Ball EB2220 Power Slinky strings, so once you’ve got the pickups wired in, you’re ready to string up and start chasing that vintage chime right away.
