Description
Seymour Duncan built the original JB and Jazz Model humbuckers over thirty years ago, and he’s still the guy to answer the question every vintage-pickup hunter asks: what would a real early set sound like today, after decades of sweat, dust, and slow magnetic decay? Drawing on 1970s-era pickups from his own collection, he answers it with the Antiquity JB/Jazz Set — the first Antiquity treatment applied to this legendary pairing.
Rather than just relic’d covers, Seymour Duncan runs these through a proprietary aging process that affects the electronics as much as the cosmetics. The Alnico V bar magnets are custom de-gaussed and rough cast before winding, softening output and rounding off the top end the way real age does — not brightness for its own sake, but harmonics that feel settled, with distortion, sustain, and clarity balanced against each other rather than fighting for attention.
This is a set for players chasing the specific, historic voice of Duncan’s most iconic bridge/neck pairing, especially on dual-humbucker guitars that already wear their age well — an Antiquity set looks and feels right at home on a guitar with some mileage on it.
