Description
Seymour Duncan built the Antiquity P90 to answer one question: what did those covered soapbars in a ’59 ES-330 or an early-’50s goldtop actually sound like before decades of wear? Pull the black cover off and you’ll find the same hand-wound bobbins, cloth-covered wire, and flatback tape construction used on the originals — nothing modernized, nothing shortcut. Each pickup gets a pair of Dun-Aged Alnico II magnets clamped to a precision metal spacer, which pushes that magnetic field up through six fillister pole pieces for a pull that feels direct and a touch loose, exactly like the vintage units this design is chasing.
This is a matched neck/bridge set, individually calibrated rather than wound identically, so the two positions balance the way a real vintage pair would: the bridge sits hotter for bite, the neck stays a little softer and rounder for warmth. Expect that classic P90 signature — more midrange growl and grit than a humbucker, more air and snap than a single-coil Strat pickup, with a slightly compressed, woody attack that cleans up beautifully on the volume knob.
- Neck: 8.10K DC resistance, 6.85H inductance, Q 2.84
- Bridge: 8.52K DC resistance, 7.41H inductance, Q 2.84
- Alnico II magnets (Dun-Aged), south polarity, calibrated pair
- Black soapbar covers, mounted-to-body height adjustment
- Includes a set of Ernie Ball EB2222 Hybrid Slinky strings
Thrown in with the set is a pack of Ernie Ball EB2222 Hybrid Slinky strings, so once these pickups are wired in you’ve got fresh strings ready to go for the first plug-in.
