Description
Seymour Duncan’s Antiquity P90s aren’t just voiced like the pickups out of a ’52 goldtop or a ’59 ES-330 — they’re built the same way. Pull the black soapbar covers off and you’ll find the same hand-fabricated bobbins, plain enamel wire, and “flatback” tape construction that went into the originals decades ago, right down to the aged look.
Each pickup uses two specially calibrated Dun-Aged Alnico II bar magnets mounted to a precision metal spacer that channels the magnetic field up through six fillister-head pole pieces. That combination is what gives P90s their signature growl: fatter and more midrange-forward than a single coil, but with more air and snap than a humbucker. This set is calibrated neck-to-bridge for balanced output across the pickup selector.
- Neck: 8.10K DC resistance, 6.85 henries inductance, Q 2.84
- Bridge: 8.52K DC resistance, 7.41 henries inductance, Q 2.84
- South magnet polarity on both pickups, 2 bar magnet pattern
- Mounted to body (no height-adjustment screws through the pickup)
- Black soapbar covers
Rounding out the bundle is a set of Ernie Ball EB2223 Super Slinky strings, so once your new P90s are wired in you’ve got a fresh set ready to bring out every bit of that vintage snarl.
