Description
Seymour Duncan’s Antiquity Texas Hot set takes the vintage-correct formula of his standard Texas Hot pickups and layers on real physical aging, so you get ’50s-style tone and looks with a bit more shove behind it. Every coil is scatter-wound by hand, “top going” with north magnet polarity just like the early originals, and the magnets themselves are individually calibrated rather than mass-matched — that’s how Duncan keeps the character consistent from pickup to pickup while still letting each one breathe.
The covers aren’t dyed plastic pretending to be old; they’re aged piece by piece so the set actually looks like it’s been living in a well-loved Strat for fifty years. Underneath, you get the full vintage treatment: staggered pole pieces raised above the flatwork, cloth push-back hookup wire, and included screws and schematics for a drop-in install.
The set covers all three positions:
- Neck pickup: 6.3K DC resistance, 2.87 henries inductance, Q of 2.39
- Custom Bridge pickup: wound hotter for extra output and fullness — 9.7K DC resistance, 4.08 henries inductance, Q of 2.52
- Middle pickup: same spec as the neck, built RW/RP for hum-cancelling in positions 2 and 4
All three share the same body dimensions (2.642″ x .615″ top, 3.392″ x .908″ bottom) and use standard 6/32 oval-head Phillips height adjustment screws, so they drop into any standard Strat pickguard route.
This listing includes a free set of Ernie Ball strings to get you playing the moment the wiring’s done.
