The AS-1B is the bridge voicing in Seymour Duncan’s Blackouts Singles lineup – an active pickup engineered to give Stratocaster-style guitars more punch and drive than a passive single coil can usually deliver. Instead of the glassy, low-output character players sometimes fight against in the bridge position, this one hands you a hotter, more compressed signal that still keeps single-coil snap intact.
Because it’s active, the AS-1B pushes your amp harder right out of the gate, which makes it a natural fit for blues-rock crunch, classic rock rhythm work, and heavier rock leads that need to cut without turning to mud. It also plays nicely with pedals and other outboard processing, since the consistent output level gives fuzz, drive, and modulation effects a stable signal to work with.
Finished in black, the AS-1B is sold individually or as part of a matched set of three Blackouts Singles, so you can voice the whole guitar consistently if you’re going all-in.
