Description
Pearly Gates, Billy Gibbons’ famous 1959 Les Paul, is a one-of-a-kind guitar—but that doesn’t mean its tone has to stay locked inside it. The Red Devil bridge pickup grew out of Gibbons wanting that same thick, singing humbucker voice available across his whole arsenal, not just his #1. He brought the idea to Seymour Duncan’s Maricela “MJ” Juarez, and together they built a pickup designed to translate Pearly’s magic into a wound-to-order unit any player can drop into their own guitar.
- Signature design developed directly with Billy Gibbons
- Aimed at recreating the humbucker tone of his ’59 Les Paul, Pearly Gates
- Bridge position pickup
- Parchment cover finish
This is a pickup built for players chasing that lead-tone snarl with just enough grit to sound huge without turning to mush—think blues-rock leads that cut hard but still breathe. If you’ve spent years trying to get closer to that ZZ Top growl through other humbuckers, the Red Devil bridge gives you a direct line to the source, straight from the guitarist who inspired it.
