Description
Skip the soldering iron and jump straight to that glassy, bell-like 50s Strat voice. This pickguard arrives fully loaded with Seymour Duncan’s Vintage Staggered pickup set — hand-ground alnico 5 rod magnets, heavy Formvar wire, and the period-correct wind pattern that gives these pickups their crisp treble snap and tight, articulate low end. Chords come through with real note separation, not mush.
The three-pickup set is smartly configured for real-world playing: a standard-wound neck pickup, an RWRP (reverse wind, reverse polarity) middle pickup for silent, quacky in-between positions, and a slightly overwound bridge pickup so you’re not fighting for volume balance across positions. Everything’s built on Seymour Duncan’s traditional Forbon flatwork with hand-filed bobbins and correct magnet stagger, a construction method they’ve used since 1978 to replicate Fender’s Golden Age single coils. Each pickup is potted for squeal-free performance and finished with waxed, tinned cloth pushback hookup wire.
The wiring itself is no afterthought — high-quality pots, selector switch, and cap, all connected with vintage-style cloth push back wire on an 11-screw hole USA-pattern pickguard, so it drops straight into your Stratocaster.
