Description
Ever wished your Strat’s neck pickup had the girth of a Jazz humbucker without sacrificing that scooped-mid clarity? The Cool Rails neck (SCR-1) drops straight into a standard single-coil route and delivers exactly that – a full-size humbucker voice packed into a rail-blade design that keeps every note tight and defined, right up to the highest frets.
Output sits at medium, so it plays nicely whether you’re pairing it with the Hot Rails bridge for a hotter contrast or matching it to its calibrated sibling, the Cool Rails bridge, for a more even-handed set across the guitar. Strummed chords come through warm with a natural mid-scoop, while single-note runs stay fat, articulate, and easy to control – the dual blades under each string mean bends sustain cleanly whether you’re up at the first fret or the twenty-first.
Built by hand in Santa Barbara, this pickup uses a ceramic bar magnet for punch and clarity, and comes wired with 4-conductor lead for series, parallel, split, or out-of-phase configurations depending on how you want to wire your controls. It’s fully wax potted too, so squealing feedback at stage volume isn’t something you’ll need to worry about.
