Description

The Custom 5 Trembucker started life as a user-driven mod: swap the ceramic or Alnico 2 magnet in an SH-5 or SH-11 Custom for Alnico 5, and see what happens. What happens is a pickup that keeps the push and output of its siblings but leans more vintage in character, with less compression and a cleaner breakup point. Think a beefed-up ’59 with a fatter low end and more headroom on tap.

A lot of players pair the Custom 5 with a ’59 in the neck for a convincing shot at that classic P.A.F. pairing, bridge and neck working together instead of fighting each other.
