Description
The Custom 5 Trembucker started life as a community mod: Seymour Duncan forum regulars swapped the ceramic magnet in an SH-5 Custom (or Alnico 2 in the SH-11) for an Alnico 5, and the result was popular enough to become its own model. What you get is a bridge humbucker that keeps the Custom’s punch and output but trades some of that ceramic/Alnico 2 aggression for a rounder, more vintage-leaning voice with less inherent distortion.
- Alnico 5 magnet for a warmer, more musical push into overdrive
- Deeper low end and expanded output versus a standard ’59
- Clean tones stay rich and full, with extra presence on tap
- Four-conductor hookup wire for coil-splitting and phase options
- Wide-spaced Trembucker sizing for tremolo bridges and post-1999 Gibson bridges
Zebra bobbins, bridge position only. It handles everything from pop and country twang to blues, classic rock, and heavy rock without losing clarity when you dig in. Pair it with a ’59 in the neck for a convincing, well-balanced take on vintage P.A.F. tone across the whole guitar.
