It carries the same vintage-correct look as the SSL-1, with those classic staggered pole pieces dialed in for balanced string-to-string output, but don’t let the familiar shape fool you.
Underneath that white cover sits an over-wound coil that pushes way past vintage-output territory. Think Texas blues turned up to arena volume, or classic rock riffs that snarl instead of chime. The extra wind gives you more sustain, thicker harmonics, and a pickup that shoves itself right to the front of a mix when you dig in — yet rolls back to clean, articulate tones the second you ease off your guitar’s volume knob.
Because it’s reverse wound/reverse polarity, this pickup is meant to be paired with a standard-wound Seymour Duncan single-coil (like a bridge or neck SSL) so that combined positions go dead quiet.
