Description
This is the pairing Dimebag Darrell actually ran: his signature ceramic Dimebucker in the bridge, balanced against a Seymour Duncan ’59 in the neck. It’s built to do something a lot of high-output sets can’t — stay smooth and musical even when you’re driving it hard into a saturated amp.
- Dimebucker (bridge): ceramic bar magnet with dual stainless steel blades for a tight, punchy low end and scooped mids. Pick attack stays crunchy and gains a slight sag when you dig in, rather than collapsing into fuzz.
- ’59 (neck): vintage-voiced humbucker with cloth braided hookup wire, giving warm, rounded lead tone that adds bite to solos without turning brittle.
- 4-conductor lead wire on the Dimebucker for coil-split or series/parallel wiring options.
- Both pickups are vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance at high gain.
- Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA.
Dime described this tone himself back in 2004: saturated, but never overly fuzzy — a smooth, crunchy distortion with low end that hits you in the gut while the top end cuts through cleanly. If you’ve ever cranked a Pantera record, that’s the sound baked into this set.
This bundle includes the black Dimebag Humbucker set plus a free pack of Ernie Ball EB2223 Super Slinky strings, so you can get your rig sounding right from the first plug-in.
