Description

Ask ten guitarists to name a legendary bridge humbucker and odds are half of them say JB. This is the Trembucker variant of Seymour Duncan’s iconic hot-rod pickup – same DNA as the SH-4, but built with F-spaced pole pieces to line up correctly under strings on tremolo-equipped guitars and post-1999 Gibson bridges. Seymour keeps one in his own guitars, which tells you plenty.

Tonally, it’s a study in balance. Output is generous and grabs distortion eagerly, yet the highs never turn brittle or ice-picky – you still get shimmer and articulate harmonics riding on top of the crunch. Push it hard for metal and hard rock, back off the gain for blues that still bites. Next to Seymour’s SH-14 Custom 5, the JB pulls ahead in treble detail and edge; if that’s a touch too forward for your rig, dropping in 250K pots will round off the peak nicely.

Built for the bridge position, it ships wired with four-conductor cable, so coil-splitting, phase-reversing, or series/parallel wiring projects are all on the table without any rewinding gymnastics.

  • F-spaced Trembucker version of the classic SH-4 JB
  • Zebra coil finish
  • Four-conductor hookup wire for full wiring flexibility
  • Recommended for bridge position

Pair it with an SH-2n Jazz neck pickup for genuine two-voice versatility, or drop in an SH-1 ’59 alongside it if vintage P.A.F. character in the neck is more your speed.
