Description
The Little 59 Tele Lead is Seymour Duncan’s answer for players who love their Telecaster’s snap but crave a bit more muscle out of the bridge position. It’s built as a humbucker-in-a-single-coil-size, so it drops straight into a standard Tele bridge routing while bringing genuine humbucker character to the table.
Tonally, this pickup is a hybrid at heart. It borrows the smooth, rounded push of a late-’59 Patent Applied For humbucker and blends it with the beefed-up twang Tele players expect from the bridge slot. The result is a lead tone that stays articulate and chimey but gains weight and warmth — great for pushing an amp into overdrive without turning to mush.
Because it’s PAF-voiced rather than a modern hot-output design, the Little 59 Tele Lead covers a wide stylistic range. It cleans up nicely for jazz and country picking, has the midrange grind for blues and funk, and holds together well for classic rock and heavier rock tones when you dig in.
- Single-coil-sized humbucker for direct Tele bridge fit
- PAF-inspired voicing with added twang and beef
- Four-conductor cable for flexible wiring options (series, parallel, split)
- Available in black only
- Suited to country, jazz, blues, funk, classic rock, and heavy rock
If you want your Telecaster to growl like a humbucker-loaded guitar while keeping its identity, the Little 59 Tele Lead is a straightforward, well-proven swap.
