Description
Built alongside Periphery’s Mark Holcomb, the Omega bridge pickup was engineered for players who need serious low-end punch without losing note definition in complex, layered arrangements. This isn’t a one-dimensional high-gain pickup — it’s voiced to handle everything from tight palm-muted riffing to sprawling legato runs with equal authority.
The ceramic magnet drives an aggressive, growling character through the mids and bass, giving chugging rhythms real teeth and percussive bite. But where a lot of high-output bridge pickups get muddy or one-note under gain, the Omega holds onto brightness and articulation, so chord voicings stay distinct and single-note lines don’t collapse into mush. That balance of aggression and clarity is what makes it work equally well for intricate rhythm parts and cutting lead tones.
It was designed as one half of a matched pair with the Alpha neck pickup, which flips the usual neck-pickup formula by blending warm, glassy sustain with the pick attack and phrasing detail you’d expect from a bridge unit. Together they’re built to handle the rhythmic precision and tonal range that progressive metal demands.
Like the rest of the Mark Holcomb Signature line, the Omega is made in Santa Barbara, California.
