Description
The PA-TB2 Distortion is the Parallel Axis Trembucker version of Seymour Duncan’s classic high-gain Distortion humbucker, re-engineered with a 53mm pole spacing to sit correctly in trembucker-routed bridges on guitars with wider string spacing. If your bridge pickup is swimming in wax and low-mid mush, this is the fix.
Under the cover sits a ceramic magnet paired with over-wound coils, a combo that pushes output well into hot territory while keeping the top end from turning into a smear. The result is a tone that cuts hard through a dense mix, with articulate highs riding on top of a thick, saturated low end that stays tight rather than boomy – exactly what you want when you’re chugging through palm-muted riffs or laying into a wall of gain.
Duncan built this one specifically with the heavier end of the spectrum in mind. Old-school metal, nu-metal, gothic, garage punk, thrash – anything that demands a pickup capable of turning up the aggression without losing note definition benefits from this design.
- Ceramic magnet with over-wound coils for high output and heavy grind
- 53mm pole spacing – Trembucker sizing for wide-spaced bridges
- Four-conductor hookup cable included for coil-split or series/parallel wiring options
- Bridge position only
- Finish: Black
Drop it into the bridge slot when you need a pickup that doesn’t flinch under distortion but still lets every note through clearly.
