Description
The Quarter Pound PJ set pairs Seymour Duncan’s two most requested Basslines pickups into one straightforward upgrade. The SPB-3 for P Bass position uses quarter-inch diameter pole pieces to widen the magnetic aperture, which pulls more low end and top end into the picture for a bigger, punchier voice with serious midrange bite and top-tier output. It’s the pickup most players reach for when a single-pickup P Bass needs to cover more ground tonally, from thumping classic rock to modern heavy styles. Comes with black logo covers, mounting screws, and a wiring diagram.
The SJB-3B handles the J Bass slot and is built as a true single-coil rather than a stacked design, so you keep that vocal single-coil character. Same quarter-inch pole piece treatment here, plus heavier winding for extra attack and output beyond Seymour Duncan’s standard Hot Jazz pickups, with sustain that holds up under aggressive playing. Suits blues, garage, classic and nu-metal alike. Ships with a logo cover.
- Want more control over the blend? Both pickups play well with Seymour Duncan’s STC-2 or STC-3 active tone circuits for a complete electronics overhaul.
Rounding out the bundle is a set of Ernie Ball Super Slinky Bass strings (EB2834), gauges .045/.065/.080/.100. Manufactured in California’s Coachella Valley from carefully sourced raw materials, they deliver the bright, balanced tone that’s made Slinkys a staple on countless stages.
