Description
This is the complete Quarter Pound overhaul for your Telecaster — STR-3 in the neck, STL-3 (black cover) in the bridge — and Seymour Duncan throws in a set of Elixir Custom Light strings to get you playing the moment it lands.
Don’t let the “single-coil” label fool you. These are built to hit hard. The trick is in the pole pieces: quarter-inch diameter magnets throw a stronger field than a standard Tele pickup, which lets Duncan use a beefier coil wind without losing the top end. The result is real single-coil snap and articulation, but with output that stands toe-to-toe with humbuckers and hot P-90s — think overdriven classic rock, jazz-rock fusion, and anything that needs midrange muscle without going muddy.
The STL-3 bridge model is the lead voice, dialed in for cutting solos and aggressive rhythm work. The STR-3 neck pickup is tonally and output-matched to its bridge partner, so switching positions feels seamless rather than jarring. It uses slightly smaller 3/16″ pole pieces and comes fitted with a chrome-plated brass cover.
- STR-3 neck pickup + STL-3 black bridge pickup — matched set
- Quarter-inch pole pieces (neck uses 3/16″) for a stronger magnetic pull and higher output
- True single-coil design with humbucker/hot P-90-level output
- Retains treble bite and clarity even under heavy gain
- Works great on both maple and rosewood boards, suited to any well-balanced Tele
- Includes a free set of Elixir Custom Light guitar strings
If your Tele needs more grit and grind without sacrificing that single-coil sparkle, this set is built exactly for that job.
