Description
Born in the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop for George Lynch, the SH-12 Screamin’ Demon takes the open, woody character of the ’59 Model and dials back the bite in favor of a thicker, more percussive growl. It’s a moderate output humbucker that still cleans up nicely, making it a natural fit for classic rock, jazz-rock fusion, heavy rock, and instrumental shredding alike.
What sets this pickup apart is its construction: one row of allen screw pole pieces paired with a row of standard slotted screws. That asymmetry isn’t just cosmetic — it contributes to the pickup’s distinctive “airy” quality, letting notes breathe even under gain while keeping the top end defined instead of harsh.
- Moderate output P.A.F.-style humbucker with added growl
- Big, open, percussive tone with controlled treble response
- Unique pole piece design (allen screws + slotted screws) for an airy character
- Four-conductor hookup cable included
- Recommended for the bridge position
- Zebra bobbin finish
For players chasing full-spectrum P.A.F. tones, the SH-12 pairs especially well in the bridge alongside a moderate output neck pickup like the SH-1 ’59, giving you Lynch’s signature snarl in the bridge and vintage warmth up front.
