Description

The SH-1N is Seymour Duncan’s take on the original late-’50s PAF formula, tuned specifically for neck position duty. It’s built to deliver that vintage humbucker character: clean tones that stay warm but never muddy, with a glassy top end that cuts through without getting harsh. Push it into distortion and you get a full, articulate voice with smooth, singing sustain rather than a wall of compressed fuzz.

Under the reverse zebra cover you’ll find the classic recipe – plain enamel magnet wire, a long-legged bottom plate, and vintage-style single conductor cable, plus no logo on the bobbins for that unbranded, period-correct look. Unlike the SH-55 Seth Lover, the ’59 leans into slightly scooped mids, giving it a bit more sparkle and separation in the midrange. It’s also vacuum wax potted, so you get squeal-free performance at stage volume without sacrificing the openness that makes PAF-style pickups so musical.

This is the neck model – pair it with a hotter bridge pickup like the SH-4 JB or SH-13 Dimebucker if you want a set that covers everything from clean jazz chords to rock rhythm and lead work.

  • Vintage-correct ’59 PAF-style humbucker
  • Neck position, reverse zebra bobbins
  • Plain enamel wire, long-legged baseplate
  • Vintage single conductor cable, no logo
  • Vacuum wax potted for squeal-free playing

Suited to country, jazz, blues, funk, classic rock and heavier rock tones alike.
