Description
This is one of Seymour Duncan’s most requested combos for good reason: the SH-2N Jazz Model in the neck and the SH-5 Duncan Custom in the bridge, both finished in black, both wired with four-conductor cable for full coil-splitting and phase flexibility. Toss in a free set of Elixir Custom Light guitar strings and you’ve got everything needed to transform an instrument’s voice in one afternoon.
- SH-2N Jazz Model (Neck): A moderate-output humbucker with a clear, articulate voice that shines on fast runs. Despite the name, it’s not just a jazz pickup — Randy Rhoads ran this exact model in his neck position. Compared to the SH-1 ’59, it trades a touch of output for sharper treble detail, staying bright and full even when driven hard.
- SH-5 Duncan Custom (Bridge): Often described as a “P.A.F. on steroids,” this ceramic-magnet humbucker delivers a hard-driving, compressed attack with punchy low end and an enhanced harmonic edge. It handles drop tunings without turning to mush, making it a go-to for hard rock, metal, punk, funk, and R&B players who need the bridge to cut without losing warmth. Pairs especially well with rosewood boards.
Seymour Duncan himself favors the Jazz/Custom pairing for a reason: the neck stays smooth and detailed while the bridge brings the aggression, giving you a genuinely versatile two-pickup platform rather than two pickups fighting each other.
Includes a free set of Elixir Custom Light strings so your new pickups sound their best from the first note.
