Description
Named after the album, built like the guitars that inspired it, the SH-PG1 Pearly Gates is Seymour Duncan’s ode to the ’59 Les Paulu00ae Standard tone that put Texas blues-rock on the map. It’s a vintage-voiced humbucker with a bit more push than true PAF territory — enough to fatten up your sustain and let pinch harmonics leap out without losing that woody, dynamic character under your fingers.
Expect a sound that’s sweet on the attack and a little rude once you dig in, with a bright, articulate top end that keeps chords from turning to mud even at higher gain. It responds well to volume knob riding and pick attack, making it a favorite for players who go from clean blues shimmer to overdriven crunch without touching a pedal.
This set comes in nickel cover and includes four-conductor hookup wire, so you’ve got the flexibility to wire in coil splits, phase switching, or series/parallel options if your guitar’s control cavity allows it.
- Nickel-covered humbucker pair, sold as a set
- Four-conductor cable for custom wiring options
- Commonly installed in both neck and bridge positions
- Best suited to brighter-toned guitars — shines with maple and ebony fingerboards
- Also works great in hollow and semi-hollow bodies
Whether you’re chasing blues-rock grit, southern rock swagger, or straight-up hard rock push, the Pearly Gates set delivers that classic-with-an-edge tone that started it all.
