Description
Some pickups chase vintage tone; the Pearly Gates picks up right where a well-worn ’59 Les Paul Standard left off and pushes just a bit further. It’s the pickup behind that raw, snarling Texas blues-rock sound — warm at its core but with an edge that borders on rude when you dig in.
- Slightly hotter output than a true vintage humbucker, with generous sustain
- Bright top end that lets pinch harmonics leap out effortlessly
- Nickel cover for classic looks and a touch of extra warmth
- Wired with four-conductor cable for coil-splitting and series/parallel wiring options
This is a matched neck/bridge set, and while it was built to recreate a specific slice of rock history, it’s flexible enough for blues, jam band excursions, southern rock, and straight-up hard rock. It leans especially well toward brighter-voiced guitars — think maple or ebony fingerboards — and shines in hollow and semi-hollow bodies where that extra clarity and sustain really open up.
Rounding out the bundle: a set of Ernie Ball Power Slinky strings, so your new pickups have something fresh to sing through from the first note.
