Description
The SH-PG1 Pearly Gates set is Seymour Duncan’s tribute to the pickups that lit up ’59 Les Paul Standards and helped define Texas blues-rock at its rawest. This bundle pairs a matched neck and bridge pair, finished in black, with a set of D’Addario EXL120 strings so you’ve got everything needed to wake up an aging guitar or dial in a fresh build.
- Neck (SH-PG1n): Slightly underwound relative to the bridge for proper calibration, keeping the two pickups balanced across the neck.
- Bridge (SH-PG1b): Same warm, hotter-than-vintage voice as the neck, built for punch under the bridge pickup’s typically higher output demands.
Both units share a personality that’s sweet with a little grit underneath — sustain for days, a bright top end that pulls harmonics right out of the wood, and enough push to cover blues, classic rock, southern rock, jam, and hard rock without feeling one-dimensional. Each pickup ships with four-conductor hookup wire, giving you the flexibility to wire coil-splits or phase options if your build calls for it.
Rounding out the set are D’Addario EXL120 XL Nickel Wound strings in super light gauge (.009, .011, .016, .024, .032, .042). These round wound, nickel-plated steel strings ride on D’Addario’s hexagonal high-carbon steel core for a tight wrap and lasting tone, and they’re made in the USA on precision winding machines for consistent feel set after set. Corrosion-resistant packaging keeps them fresh until you’re ready to string up.
