Description
The SJAG-3 Quarter Pound is Seymour Duncan’s answer for Jaguar players who want their single-coils to hit harder without losing that jangly single-coil character. Built with hand-polished, quarter-inch diameter magnetic pole pieces and overwound coils, this set pushes output and midrange punch well beyond the Vintage (SJAG-1) and Hot (SJAG-2) versions in the lineup. Expect more drive and noticeably longer sustain, all while staying a genuine single-coil in construction — no cover here, just raw pole pieces doing the work.
- High-output true single-coil design
- Hand-polished 1/4″ pole pieces
- Overwound coils for extra punch and sustain
- Sold as a matched neck/bridge set
- Neck pickup wired RW/RP for humbucking cancellation with the bridge
- No cover
Because the neck pickup is reverse-wound/reverse-polarity, running both pickups together gives you that hum-canceling effect players chase in a Jaguar without sacrificing the split-coil bite each pickup delivers on its own. Tonally, this set leans into blues, classic rock, garage, heavy rock, classic metal, and nu-metal territory — anywhere you need single-coil snap with real muscle behind it.
It’s a versatile match for well-balanced instruments regardless of fingerboard wood, performing just as well over maple as it does over rosewood. This listing includes a free set of Ernie Ball strings, so you’re ready to restring the moment the new pickups go in.
