Description
Seymour Duncan built this SJM-1 set to leave no stone unturned in chasing the original 1957 Jazzmaster sound. The SJM-1n neck and SJM-1b bridge pickups aren’t a modern approximation — they’re a faithful recreation right down to the cloth wire leads and hand-ground pole pieces that gave the vintage originals their character and slightly irregular, organic voice.
Wind it, wire it, and it disappears into your guitar the way a Jazzmaster pickup should: the neck unit is reverse wound/reverse polarity, so running both pickups together cancels hum instead of stacking it. That’s the difference between a warm, chiming middle position and one plagued by 60-cycle buzz.
Because these are direct replacements for factory Jazzmaster pickups, there’s no routing, no modification, and no guesswork — just drop them in. Seymour Duncan includes a wiring diagram and all the mounting hardware you need to get them installed and singing.
- SJM-1n neck pickup — reverse wound/reverse polarity for hum cancellation
- SJM-1b bridge pickup — matched vintage-correct output and tone
- Cloth wire leads and hand-ground pole pieces for authentic vintage detail
- Direct fit, no modification required
- Wiring diagram and mounting hardware included
- Free strings included with this set
If your Jazzmaster needs its jangle and bite back, this is the pair that gets you there.
