Description

Seymour Duncan took the original APH-2 that carries Slash’s name and cranked up the wind, giving the Slash 2.0 more muscle for live rigs that need to cut through a loud stage without sacrificing personality. It’s still built around an Alnico II magnet, so you get that familiar soft-edged top end and the slightly loose, vocal pull on the low strings that Alnico II is known for — just with more push behind it.

  • Hotter-wound version of the signature APH-2, aimed at hard-hitting live performance
  • Alnico II magnet delivers a smooth, soft high-end attack rather than a harsh, aggressive bite
  • Warm, extra-sweet tone with thick, rounded mids
  • Near-endless sustain for notes that bloom rather than fade
  • Reverse Zebra bobbin finish for a distinctive look at the bridge position

What makes this pickup work so well for lead-heavy playing is the balance between output and touch sensitivity. There’s enough gain on tap to drive an amp into singing sustain, but the Alnico II keeps things from turning brittle or ice-picky when you dig in. Chords stay thick and articulate, single notes stretch out for days, and the overall voice leans warm and smooth rather than scooped or glassy.

Drop it into the bridge position of a guitar you already love, or use it to chase that specific blend of vintage-informed sweetness and modern-friendly drive that’s defined a generation of guitar tone. The Reverse Zebra cover puts a visual signature on a pickup that’s already got plenty of tonal signature to spare.
