Description
The STC-3M4 is Seymour Duncan’s 4-knob Music Man Tone Circuit, a complete active preamp harness that drops into a Stingray-style control cavity and hands you real shaping power over your low end. You get dedicated bass, treble, and midrange controls plus a master volume, and each one earns its spot on the faceplate.
Treble stays wide-open and articulate without ever turning glassy or harsh. The bass control digs deep while keeping things tight and defined rather than boomy. Midrange sweeps from silky-smooth to aggressively punchy, covering a huge range of voices in between.
Pull up on the volume knob and you engage the built-in Slap Switch, a push-pull that flips in a dedicated EQ contour voiced for slap technique. Two small trim pots on the circuit board let you dial that slap contour in exactly to taste, so it’s not a one-size-fits-all boost.
Pair it with Seymour Duncan’s Music Man replacement pickups for a matched, complete overhaul. The STC-3M4 was engineered for Stingray basses but also fits any bass with a single passive pickup, room for four knobs, and a 9v battery cavity — wire two batteries in series if you want extra headroom.
Included in the box:
- Pre-wired harness with high-quality potentiometers
- All necessary mounting hardware
- Battery clip and stereo jack
- Black anodized, knurled, dome-style knobs
Important: this circuit is built for a standard 2-coil Music Man style pickup and won’t function correctly with a 3-coil Sterling style pickup.
