The STK-S4 Classic Stack Plus Neck pickup is Seymour Duncan’s answer to the age-old single-coil dilemma: how do you get rid of 60-cycle hum without sacrificing the twang and airiness that makes single coils sound like single coils? The solution is a patented stacked coil design that injects a precisely tuned “negative hum” signal directly into the circuit, cancelling noise at the source rather than filtering it out after the fact.

Each STK-S4N is individually factory-tuned so the hum cancellation lines up perfectly with traditional single-coil tone – no thin, sterile, or overly compressed sound here. You still get the sparkle, snap, and dynamic response players expect from a classic single coil, just without the buzz when you step near a dimmer switch or fluorescent light.
