The STK-S6B Custom Stack Plus is Seymour Duncan’s answer to a question every gigging Strat player eventually asks: how do you get real single-coil bite without the 60-cycle hum that comes with it? Built as the noiseless counterpart to the beloved SSL-5 Custom Staggered, this bridge pickup delivers the same overwound punch and vintage-flavored drive, just without the buzz.

Under the hood, Seymour’s patented stacked coil design (an 80s-era innovation) uses a secondary coil that injects negative hum directly into the circuit, cancelling noise at the source rather than filtering it out after the fact. Alnico 5 rod magnets keep the tone rooted in authentic Strat territory, while the overwound construction adds extra output and drive that gives the low end a tight, snappy edge and the highs a focused shimmer that never turns brittle. There’s also a slightly vocal quality running through the midrange that adds expressiveness without muddying up your attack.

Wired with tappable 3-conductor cable, you can switch between full stacked output and a true single-coil mode for lower output and extra chime when you want it. Each pickup is individually fine-tuned for maximum hum cancellation and wax-potted to eliminate microphonic squeal.
