Description

Before it was called a Telecaster, Leo Fender’s creation went by another name — the Broadcaster. The bridge pickup from that first run had a bark all its own: nasal, twangy, and loaded with sustain that just kept blooming. The STL-1b takes that vintage voice and puts it back to work in your guitar.

  • Larger .197″ pole pieces set in a flat orientation, matching the original spec
  • More output and a snarlier midrange than the Vintage ’54
  • Comes wired with waxed cloth hookup cable for that period-correct look and feel

Where the ’54 leans clean and glassy, the Broadcaster Lead pushes harder into the mids, giving you a bit more grit to dig into. It’s a natural fit for chicken pickin’, traditional and country-pop leads, rockabilly runs, and blues or blues-rock phrasing that wants some bite behind it. Drop it in the bridge position and you’ve got a direct line back to 1948 — twang, snarl, and sustain that refuses to quit.

Whether you’re chasing authentic vintage tone or just want a lead pickup with real character, the STL-1b delivers the nasal honk and harmonic complexity that made the original so legendary.
