Description
If you love the bell-like chime of a vintage Strat neck pickup but can’t stand the buzz that comes with it, the Vintage Rail is built exactly for you. It drops straight into a standard single-coil slot, so no routing or pickguard surgery required, yet inside it’s running a twin-coil split rail design wired in parallel to cancel hum while keeping the tone unmistakably single-coil.
The output sits at classic vintage levels – clean, glassy, and touch-sensitive, with plenty of top-end sparkle intact. Dial in the in-between positions and you get that signature quacky, scooped-mid twang that made these pickup slots famous for country, surf, rockabilly, and ska. Blues and classic rock players will find it cleans up beautifully at lower volumes and still has enough clarity to cut through when you dig in.
Compared to Duncan’s Duckbucker, the split rail construction means the coils cover more string surface, so bending up at the 12th fret won’t cause any weird volume dropout between the poles – a small but very real upgrade for anyone who bends aggressively.
- Vintage-output, single-coil-sized humbucker (rails design)
- Twin-coil, split-rail construction wired in parallel
- Hum-canceling while retaining true single-coil tone and quack
- Eliminates string-bending dropout common to pole-piece pickups
- Four-conductor lead wire
- Black cover
A smart, drop-in fix for any Strat-style neck position that needs vintage sparkle minus the noise.
