This is Seymour Duncan’s YJM Fury pickup set fully prewired into a pickguard drilled to the 11-screw USA Stratocaster pattern, so it drops right into your build with minimal fuss. Each guard is assembled by hand in Santa Barbara, CA, complete with a calibrated set of YJM Fury pickups and the high-speed, no-lube YJM volume pot Yngwie insists on for split-second response under his right hand.
The bridge pickup is voiced to survive Malmsteen’s rapid-fire chordal attacks, wound a bit hotter than its siblings so it stays balanced against the neck and middle units. It’s got plenty of top-end sparkle without tipping into ice-pick territory — articulate and precise, but never harsh.
Neck and middle pickups share a sweeter, smoother personality tuned to track fluid legato runs and dynamic pick attack alike. There’s just enough high-end presence to keep note definition sharp while staying touch-responsive to how hard (or gently) you dig in.
All three use Seymour Duncan’s decades-old stacked-coil design, where a secondary bottom coil cancels 60-cycle hum by injecting an equal and opposite signal into the circuit. Every pickup gets individually fine-tuned at the end of production for maximum noise rejection, so you keep that unmistakable single-coil chime and quack without the buzz.
