Description
Seymour Duncan’s Zephyr Silver series set out to answer one question: what happens when you build a Strat pickup with zero compromise on cost or materials? The answer, engineered by VP of Engineering Kevin Beller, is a pickup that trades the usual copper-wire ceiling for genuine silver windings — the only conductor with lower resistance per unit length than copper. The result isn’t hyped highs or scooped lows; it’s a more accurate, more complete transmission of everything your strings are actually doing, from shimmering top-end detail to tighter, fuller low end.
This is the RW/RP middle pickup from the set, wound reverse and reverse-polarity so it cancels hum with the neighboring bridge and neck pickups — meaning positions two and four get that classic quack with dead-quiet operation. Dropped into the middle slot, it turns your ‘number three’ sound into a genuinely dynamic, complex voice suited to snappy rhythm work and expressive solos alike.
Under the black cover you’ll find bi-metallic pole pieces — 440C stainless steel wrapped around a pure nickel core — giving high output headroom with fast, nuanced response to playing dynamics. Every Zephyr pickup is also cryogenically treated, a process shown to pull additional detail and resolution out of audio components.
