Description
Built for players who need serious gain on tap but refuse to sacrifice clarity, the Suhr Aldrich neck humbucker is voiced specifically to pair with the Aldrich bridge pickup as a matched set. Suhr dialed in the output and EQ curve so the neck position sits perfectly balanced against its bridge counterpart, giving you a cohesive voice across the whole guitar rather than two pickups fighting for attention.
Despite being Suhr’s hottest neck humbucker, the Aldrich never gets soupy or indistinct. String-to-string separation stays intact even under heavy gain, with warm mids, tight low end, and highs that sing rather than shriek. It moves effortlessly from thick crunch rhythm tones to singing blues leads to fluid, saturated lead lines – the full range a great neck humbucker should cover.
Key specs:
- DC Resistance: 9K ohms (neck position)
- 4-conductor wiring for flexible coil-split/series-parallel options
- 50mm spacing (standard for all Suhr neck pickups)
- Nickel cover finish
Suhr Guitars has been hand-crafting instruments and pickups since 1997 under JS Technologies Inc., co-founded by John Suhr and Steve Smith. Their pickup lineup – from Gibson-style humbuckers to Strat-style singles and the hybrid S90 – draws directly from the best vintage examples, which is exactly why players like Scott Henderson, Guthrie Govan, Kirk Fletcher, and of course Doug Aldrich rely on them night after night. ProAudioLand was proud to be named Suhr’s 2015 Electronics Dealer of the Year.
Note: Aldrich bridge pickups are available in Fender-style trem spacing (53mm) or Gibson-style spacing (50mm); all Aldrich neck pickups use 50mm spacing.
