This set pairs the DA-N neck and DA-B bridge humbuckers, both born from a collaboration between John Suhr and rock guitarist Doug Aldrich. The goal was straightforward: give aggressive rock players a high-output pickup pair that stays articulate no matter how hard you push the gain.
The DA-N neck pickup is Suhr’s hottest neck humbucker to date, calibrated specifically to sit alongside the DA-B in output and voice. Despite the increased power, it holds onto tight lows, warm mids, and singing top end, with string-to-string balance that doesn’t collapse into mush. It handles chunky rhythm work, bluesy leads, and fluid high-gain solos with equal confidence.
The DA-B bridge pickup is Suhr’s highest output pickup overall, but power here doesn’t come at the cost of definition. Expect a big, focused sound with punchy mids and controlled low end, plus high-mids that cut cleanly and treble that stays sweet rather than harsh. From low-string metal riffing to screaming bends up top, it tracks your picking dynamics faithfully even at maximum gain.
