Description
The Suhr DSH is built for guitarists who want a bridge humbucker that doesn’t just crush into distortion but still breathes like a vintage pickup should. It’s one of Suhr’s most requested humbuckers precisely because it splits the difference so well: enough output and midrange punch to shove a tube amp’s front end into overdrive, yet enough clarity and openness to stay articulate when you back off and play clean.
That balance matters most at the bridge position, where a lot of humbuckers either go flat and sterile or get muddy under gain. The DSH holds onto note definition and pick attack even when driven hard, so chords stay legible and single notes cut through a dense mix instead of disappearing into it. Suhr builds it with 4-conductor wiring for coil-split flexibility and premium components throughout, so what you’re actually playing — touch, dynamics, the character of your guitar’s wood and setup — comes through the amp rather than getting smoothed over by the pickup.
This particular version is finished in black and set up with Fender-style 53mm pole spacing, making it a direct fit for guitars routed for that spacing rather than Gibson-style 50mm.
