Description
The Suhr DSV+ takes everything great about vintage PAF-style humbuckers and adds a bit of edge for players who need their bridge pickup to actually cut through a band. It’s not a high-output monster, but it’s got just enough extra push over a true vintage-spec pickup to stay articulate in a dense mix without losing that classic humbucker sweetness.
Genre-wise, this thing doesn’t box you in. Blues, classic rock, pop sessions, jazz gigs, even high-energy fusion—the DSV+ has the versatility to sound right at home in all of it. A lot of that comes down to how Suhr voiced the coils: warm and rounded like a great old PAF, but with a touch more clarity and definition on top.
This particular listing is the black bobbin version, built to Fender-style 53mm pole spacing for a direct fit into guitars with that string spread.
- DC Resistance: 10K ohms
- 4-conductor wiring for full flexibility (series, parallel, split coil, etc.)
- 53mm pole spacing (Fender-style)
- Also available in white and zebra bobbins
Worth noting: the DSV+ family comes in two screw configurations. Double-row screws lean toward a sweeter, smoother top end, while the single-screw version brings more cut and midrange honk. Pick the flavor that matches how aggressive you want your bridge tone to sit in the mix.
