Description
The H2 is one of Tom Anderson’s most-loved bridge pickups for good reason: it delivers that medium-hot output players want for cutting through a mix, but keeps the top end smooth and articulate instead of brittle or fuzzy. It’s the kind of humbucker that rewards dynamics — dig in and it growls, back off and it cleans up nicely.
That clarity comes from Anderson’s approach to the whole H series. Rather than relying on standard pole piece sizing, they use larger pole pieces paired with redesigned string spacing to create a more uniform magnetic field across all six strings. The practical result: no weak, dropped-out low string and no shrill, overpowering high string — just even response from low E to high E.
Every H2 ships wired with a 4-conductor shielded cable, so you’ve got full flexibility for series, parallel, or split wiring configurations depending on how you want to set up your control cavity. Anderson’s humbuckers as a whole are known for exceptionally clean coil-splitting, and the H2 is no exception — arguably one of the better splitting humbuckers out there if you want single-coil tones on tap.
- Medium-hot output, tailored for bridge position
- Larger pole pieces for even string-to-string balance
- Smooth overdrive character with articulate highs
- 4-conductor shielded cable for series/parallel/split wiring
- Excellent coil-splitting performance
If you’re chasing a bridge humbucker that’s hot enough to push an amp but refuses to sound harsh doing it, the H2 deserves a serious look.
