Forget gritty overdrive circuits — the MORE is pure, transparent gain designed to do one job exceptionally well: drive your tube amp’s preamp section harder than your volume knob ever could. With a sweep from +5dB up to +40dB of clean boost and a maximum undistorted output of +16dBu, it’s built specifically to wake up that first gain stage rather than color your tone with its own flavor.
- Solo boost: minimum to around 12 o’clock for a punchy lift that cuts through the mix
- Sweeten All: 10 to 2 o’clock, left on permanently to subtly tickle your first preamp tube and glue your tone together
- Low volume gain / Holy crap mode: 2 o’clock to max, for pushing a low-gain amp into breakup at volume 1-2, or unleashing absolute chaos on an already-dimed amp
Because it’s got enough headroom to slam a digital pedal’s converters when maxed, this one’s happiest placed right before a tube amp, or last in line if you’re running a full pedal chain — though of course, it’s your rig and your rules.
Runs on a standard 9V center-negative adaptor, drawing 45mA at idle and up to 52mA at max output.
Two flavors are available: the Deluxe, which arrives in a wooden box with a bandana and a laser-engraved badge, and the Bean Counter, a no-frills version with a silkscreened badge graphic and standard packaging — same circuit, same gain, less ceremony.
